The Tennessee Journalist is a big part of my life. I was promoted to editor of the Opinions section at the end of fall 2007.

Well, with great power comes great responsibility. I knew it would be hard work, but I didn't realize all the things that go into being an editor. Having said that, I am really glad I am able to do it.

Some of my responsibilities are:

  • Editing all stories in the Opinions section
  • Coming up with weekly ideas for staff writers
  • Creating a weekly budget with ideas for photography
  • Attending weekly editorial and staff meetings
  • Making sure I don't screw up

The great thing about editing is that I already know no one is perfect. We all make mistakes, especially me. I just enjoy trying to correct other's mistakes to help them convey their unique opinion.
